It is happening again…
So I was playing a little catch up with the ol social media and when I hopped on Twitter I got really excited when I saw this tweet from the one and only David Lynch.
Lets Rock! Twin Peaks is coming back in 2016 on Showtime. David Lynch and Mark Frost are writing 9 episodes which David Lynch will direct. Check out the link below to see a teaser Showtime posted on their site:
It has to be said that when Twin Peaks aired in 1990 it was unlike anything anyone had ever seen on television and was clearly a show way ahead of its time. I knew from the moment I watched the pilot I was hooked. It should also be said that as I am writing this I am watching season one of Twin Peaks on Netflix. Hey, what can I say, it’s that good!
The show introduced us to so many cool and quirky characters, Coop, the log lady, and the man from another place, just to name a few. The story was mysterious and dark, but had such comical moments, some being provided by David Lynch himself playing the part of FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole. And the soundtrack in my opinion kicked ass. Want proof, go listen to Jimmy Scott perform Sycamore Trees. Your argument is invalid!
I enjoyed the rush Twin Peaks gave me 23 years ago and am really excited to see what kind of Garmonbozia David Lynch and Mark Frost are going to serve up in 2016.
Even more exciting news is that if you haven’t seen Twin Peaks yet you have until 2016 to check it out. C’mon FIRE WALK WITH ME, I dare ya.
But for those of you who know what I’m talking about, meet me at the Great Northern for a coffee and we’ll talk about it.
SPOILER ALERT: FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER WATCHED TWIN PEAKS. IF YOU PLAN TO CHECK IT OUT, WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T WATCH THE MOVIE BEFORE THE SHOW. IT WOULD BE A BAD , BAD IDEA. Thank you for reading this public service announcement.
